    Pianos do have strings. Where do you think the sound comes from ?

    The hammer hits the strings and secondly, as you start from the bass and work your way up to the middle C, their are 2 to 3 strings per note.

    So, yes, strings are replacable and I broke one on my piano which is how I know. The bass string broke and cost me $45 to replace.. Did it myself.
