Is it conceivable that we could have an F-6 tornado at some point?

  1. definitely plausible i would say. In the near future it's only a matter of time when those perfect conditions occur to develop this super tornado. Global warming deviated everything. Climate  change will result in phenomenas that are unprecedented .who knows,f-6 tornadoes may be so common in the future? so much so we have to increase the scale of it to f-7.


  2. Definetely not. They just reduced the scale back in 2007. Instead of being the F scale, it is now the EF scale. The reduced the scale because F5 tornadoes were so rare. Back in 2006, winds had to be well over 250mph to be considered an F5, now all the winds have to be is over 200mph. They changed the scale for a reason and i don't think they will change it again for a long time. The scale that I think they will raise is the hurricane scale. Hurricanes are getting more powerful, if anything, they will raise that, or add Category 6 to the saffir simpson scale.

  3. You won't see it because of the new EF-rating system and I don't think I would want to be around one that had those kind of winds.
