  1. I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see why not. If the server knows who you are and tracks you there it can't be very anonymous... I mean if he _knows_ you're there.

  2. of course the law must go on!!!

  3. Heck, I got arrested in an AA meeting. How proper is that? They got mad because I said I was a doper instead of an alcoholic. They told me it was a "closed" meeting and I would have to leave. We got in a big old argument because they refused to sign my slip for my parole officer. I wound up catching an assault and trespassing charge, got PV'ed, and spent the next four months locked up. Now I am off paper completely, and don't have to attend AA anymore, so it all worked out. What did they serve you papers for?

  4. It is 100% legal to serve someone at an AA meeting.

  5. You can't hide from the courts.  After all if a person is in AA due to being court ordered then the courts know exactly where to find them.

The AA group I was in was full of ex cons and felons, but of course not everyone was a con.

In my short stay I have seen cops come in and arrest a person on an outstanding warrant.

The people who serve summons and court orders and the City Marshals service like to know where people work and I guess AA serves the same purpose because if a person is at work or in an AA meeting they are easy to find. I have seen many arrests at work and like I said some in AA.

Best thing a person can do to avoid this is to stay out of trouble.

  6. Sorry but, whoever is telling you stuff is blowing hot wind your direction.  Then again, a lot of that goes on in AA meetings.

There is no anonymity in AA.

  7. Just have him say he's a friend of Bill W. & he'll be warmly welcomed.

Though, the process server will have to admit to being an alcoholic, & giving his life story on what led to his intemperate ways.  Then, during the coffee break, when the real alkies step out & get juiced again, the server can find the intended & hand over the papers.

  8. An AA meeting normally goes for a couple of hours per sitting. Surely the server can wait for a more appropriate time. After all there is the anonymity of other members to be considered as well.

  9. If you're trying to get out of something for being illegally served, you're out of luck.

Time to take some "personal responsibility", make some amends.

The courts don't respect AA, they use it for a dumping ground.
