Is it convenient to study at a swedish university for an undergraduate degree being an American?

  1. Yes, it is.

    Although you will be required to take Swedish, most, if not all of your university courses will be taught in English. The same is true of your textbooks.

    I found Swedish to be very simple linguistically, but it has a few speech sounds that are really difficult to master. The other problem was that the Swedes I tried to speak Swedish with always answered me in English, so it was a tad difficult to practice!

    Be aware, though, that Sweden is one of the world's most expensive countries to live in. The weather sucks, too, and the darkness in the winter can get to a person unless you live at a latitude similar to the city you are considering in Sweden. Stockholm is at the same latitude as Anchorage, Alaska. In the winter, there are only 4 hours of daylight, and that is only twilight. It was too much for me, though I stuck it out for a year.
