Question:

Is it correct if I say "I am studying at German"? Or should I say "I am studying German"?

and if I want to say that I study whatever other topic... "at chemistry"?

  1. to study is a transitive verb, meaning that it will take a direct object without a preposition, same as to eat, to drink, to watch, to see, etc.

    So -- I'm studying German (right now). Or I'm learning German, actually. I study Chemistry, etc.


  2. "At" indicates location.  Say you are studying German.  You are not IN German.

  3. 'I am studying German'

    'I am studying at German' doesn't make any sense - You are saying that you are studying IN German, but you can't be cause German isn't a country...

    'AT' indicated location.

    You owould say...

    'I am studying Chemsitry'

    'I am studying English'
