Is it correct that the Queen goes to the toilet like the rest of us. I find it hard to believe?

Nothing could be further from the truth.  The Queen doesn't do anything "like the rest of us."  She has servants that prepare everything for her.  She doesn't undress herself, she doesn't make her own phone calls, she doesn't drive a car (although she does drive a jeep on her ranch in Scotland), and so the term "like the rest of us" simply doesn't apply.

Her closest aides and servants have to sign contracts to never, never, never, ever write a book about what they see and experience working for her, and she will, through her army of lawyers, sue the butt off anyone who would breach this contract.

Anyway, that's what I've heard!

Certainly.  Queens have always gone to the toilet.  Queen Elizabeth I had one of the first flush toilets in england, it was invented by her godson Sir John Harington.

And Queen Victoria wrote to her daughter, who had married the son of the German emperor, advising her to have some of these 'necessary articles' installed in her new home (Queen Victoria evidently had had poor experiences of German plumbing).
