"forgot something" is better, es mejor. como en espanol, el 'tu' o subjeto no es necesario aqui. a mi, no me gusta 'forgot you something' es mal ingles a los nativos. buena suerte.

Though I understand where your manager is coming from, it's a difficult language to translate to. English is a tough language if it is not your first language.
