  1. i'm afraid corruption is so deep among our politicians.

  2. It is there but it is not hopeless. While it is true that corruption is a problem, there are still vast majorities of good and hardworking government employees serving the country. The same with filipinos, there are still a lot more of those that live decent lives and act based on principles.

There are still places where corruption is worse, and the filipino people do not wish corruption to be a way of life.

In life, it is always the negative and the wrongdoers which are ranting and loud, presenting themselves as the majority. Those doing good things are often silent because they would rather work and be positive so as to really provide a solution.

  3. Corruption is not widespread in the Philippines. Most Filipinos are used to thinking of negative things around them due to what they hear on the radio, see on TV and read on the newspapers. But, they don't notice the good things that happen to them everyday. Most TV / radio stations and newspapers always likes to put down government officials so that they can sensationalize the stories. That way, they can sell their newspapers and TV/radio stations will  have advertisers.

  4. Every government are corrupt, the only problem wth philippines, is our debt, especially when marcos corrupted so much money that we cant even pay our debt, its only getting bigger and bigger, but thanks to our OFW's that are sending money to the phil they are helping us pay our debt, and i think phil is getting better. It was the 2nd best asian country only next to japan, but when  marcos corrupted we started to fall. But like i said we are now getting better.

  5. Yes,  My wife is from the Philippines and every election she has experienced since Marcos is getting worse.

The middle class is not doing so well.  If the poor are getting poorer then the Rich are getting richer

Middle class in the US has the same problems but not as bad as the Philippines..

Far too much cronyism and corruption and the people are not helping themselves as they are too much into colonial thinking

  6. Just look at the Government, corruption is always present.

  7. sadly so.  I longed for the days when we were the toast of Asia, an emerging economic super power in the region... but corruption and graft and the bottomless greed of government officials is draining so much resources from the country and the mass exodus of our most brilliant minds is leaving behind in its wake a dilapidated and used up once beautiful country.

Look at our natural resources - the once pristine forests that had been over logged, our rivers that are now clogged with human detritus, our air that is so grossly polluted - maybe just second to Beijing or Tokyo - but those are industrialized and economic giants in Asia ...

I don't blame the common people or the street cops for wanting to survive this tough economy although I don't condone corruption I understand it when they have to do unsavory things to survive... but the government officials in high positions just shamelessly enriching themselves at the people's expense should be apprehended, tried in FAIR court, convicted and JAILED for ruining the country.

  8. Yea for sure, the bureaucracy is extremely nauseating.  One does not need to say anything, but simply look around. The mediocrity is at its highest peak. The best way to solve this problem is to overhaul the whole Philippine system, from the highest hierarchy to the lowest. If am given the chance, I'l put them all in a firing squad, it costs less in eradicating this morally debased demons, for just a single gunpowder. Or simply drop a nuclear bomb to cleanse this country from a vicious cycle of corruption and mediocrity

  9. Rampant! From the grassroots level up to the very top of the government!

Corruption has developed to be a way of life for the Filipinos!

  10. Philippines is the 3rd country among most curropt.

  11. Yes, it is at its worse in the present administration.

  12. eversince.

  13. Yes, this is due to the vast amount of money needed for campaigning versus the salary that an official gets so they have to compensate for it.. But they actually spend all those money in the 1st place so that they could get a position and then power to do whatever they want.. It's just business as always..

  14. Sadly, yes. Majority of government officials are corrupt. The President, senators, congressmen, mayors, brgy. captains!

  15. Yeah mate its widespread there. Human nature really, quiet sad but thats the way it is there.

  16. yes, and it has been for a very long time.

corruption in the Philippines is not something new. Under the table transactions at customs, sss, almost all government agencies. cops, public hospitals, public infrastructure...

you name it, philippines got it.

  17. Yes, the Philippines ARE corrupted...

    -

And for that matter, so is the rest of this crazy world... Everyone can be bought...
