Is it customary to call the guy who took me out for dinner last night to say "thank you"?

He was sweet, bought me a steak, and a very pretty robe.....is it good mannerism to call and say thank you the day after?

This was our first "official" date.

I don't want to be rude by NOT calling, but I don't want to be pushy. We already talked about going out later in the week.

He does not have email.

Thanks

  1. i would not text him. call him to say thank you but do NOT text him.

  2. I was originally going ot say text him, but he gave you a robe/ !!  You need to call him.  Anythng else would be lame.

  3. It would be very good manners to call or text right away and say "Thank you for a wonderful evening, I enjoyed it very much." This is not being pushy, it is just being polite. This tells him that you like him and appreciate his generosity, which is all that he really needs (and probably wants) to know, until the next time you meet.

Do not delay in doing this - that would not be polite.

  4. No, you will look desperate. Wait a couple days and if he doesn't call by then you can call and say thanks. But I wouldn't push it as for going out.

  5. A robe?  A robe???  A ROBE??????????  You are kidding, right?

  6. I would text him and say something like, "hey there, I had a great time and just wanted to say thanks! :)  Keep it short, simple and sweet! Everyone loves text messages-fun to get and you don't have to actually engage in conversations!

  7. Well hopefully you said thank you at the end of the night then that's good enough.  Maybe you can buy him a few drinks the next time you go out if your broke then don't worry about it.  He seems like a nice guy and it probably made him very happy to take you out.  I agree with you about not calling-it's better to let the man persue things that's what they like to do.  A text is good enough just say something like that was such a great steak the other night it will probably put a smile on his face for the rest of the day.

  8. text him but dont say "thank you", tell him you had a great time...as long as you really did

  9. If you thanked him in person that should be enough, but it certainly can't hurt to call and speak to him again.

    He gave you a robe???
