My period is late. Normally I get it about every 25 days and today would be day 31 of the cycle and all I've gotten is some reddish brown tinged mucus. I took 2 tests on the 20th and 21st and both were negative, but still no period. I only just got the mucus stuff today and its not very prominent. Just a little when I wipe. Does it sound like my period is just coming late or do pregnancies often start like this? I've also had incredibly sore b*****s, some nausea, irritability, and fatigue.

  1. if its implantation spotting it wouldn't show on a test until a few days after, if it doesn't get heavier like a period i would take another test in a few days to a weeks time, but does sound like you could be pregnant

  2. Some women get what is referred to as an "implantation bleed" - basically around the time your period is due, it's when the fertilized egg is settling into the uterine wall, and sometimes that can cause a bit of blood to be shed.

Do another test in a couple of days time (using the first urine of the day) and see what happens. I've known friends who've not tested positive until their period has been a good couple of weeks late.

  3. i would wait a few more days then test again if it came back negative again i would book myself to see a doctor but you could be pregnant you could have implantation bleeding
