  1. no darling....chemotherapy & it's side effects are not contagious!

  2. I would not think that this would cause any risk to the baby. However if she has any concerns then it may be best to consult a doctor to be 100% certain

  3. There's some controversy about this, generally no though i believe. i had to research myself a few months ago. I rang the NHS direct help line and the nurse said no. The man will not be allowed to leave the hospital until his radiation levels are concidered non harmful to people around him.

  4. No. The person undergoing chemo is immunocompromised and susceptible to acquire infections but the people around him should be fine. Think about those devoted oncology nurses who are pregnant and taking care of Cancer patients.

  5. Chemo, no!  Radiation possibly.  I know that my friends daughter cannot be around her newborn 24 hours after radiation.

  6. Of course not! you cannot be damaged by someone else's chemotherapy!

  7. It is something she should be aware of. However, the risks are probably quite low.

Does the patient's consultant know he's with a pregnant woman a lot? If not, then he or she should be told. I have heard of cases where cancer patients become quite radioactive and have to keep away from close contact with other people. However, you say chemotherapy. This is not the same as radiotherapy and it's not necessarily involving radioactive drugs. Radiotherapy is the principal concern.

  8. no, not at all even raditiaon treatment is not internal to the person undegoing treatment

  9. no i think its radiotherapy
