If so, how long does it have to have been open and in the fridge to be poisonous, how long after exposure do symptoms appear, and what are the symptoms? I opened and placed a soda can in the refrigerator about 4-5 hours ago, and when I went to get a drink, I thought of this.

I know you can get very ill from eating food in an open tin can, such as tuna, and I was wondering if this was the same thing. I hate the idea of food poisoning and don't want to chance anything. Thanks.

  2. pop is so full of HFCS and other toxic compounds i highly doubt it can grow anything on it especially in a fridge

  3. I have never heard of that. Soda cans are aluminum not tin, so you should be fine there. However, I would hope that the fridge is clean and has no flies or gnats that could drink your soda first..

  4. i've never heard of anything like that

  5. It goes flat and absorbs other fridge odor.  You can end up with onion soda !

  6. first, the cans are not tin.  they are alunmin.

no, it is safe... it will be flat, but it is ok.

next time, pour it in a plastic bottle if it bothers you about the metal the can is made of.
