  1. i would wait in till it healed up

  2. Chlorine will kill just about everything that could infect you, but if your cut is bleeding or oozing at all, you should not go in the water - out of respect and consideration for others. Most pools have rules against swimming with open wounds. If the cut is starting to heal, put a good waterproof bandage on it and you'll be fine. You can also get little rubber finger "cots" (they look like tips of latex gloves, sort of "finger condoms") to roll over the bandage and keep it dry.

  3. with that new bacteria they found in pools that are resilient against the chlorine, i would say - dont go in the water

  4. What kind of "cut" are we talking about? Paper cut? Gaping wound? Laceration? Puncture? Also, what stage of the healing process is the cut in? Has it coagulated? Scabbed over? Is the skin knitting back together? What part of the finger is it on? Does the skin stretch or crack back open when you bend the finger?

If it's a minor abrasion or laceration (paper cut, etc) and it had passed the scab stage than you should be fine. If you want to put some petroleum jelly on it to help it resist the water you can. Also, a waterproof bandaid can make you feel better.

If you have an open wound and there is any oozing, bleeding or rawness to the area than avoid the pool.

    Good luck and have fun!
