I had otoplasty (ears pinned back) last October by Transform Medical Group. Because the nearest clinic was in Edinburgh for me and I am three hours drive from there, it was difficult to come down and see the doctor as I went back to work a week after the op. I contacted the hospital there as they were supposed to give me a headband to wear at night to keep my ears in place, but they never, and now my ears have gone back to their original shape (and I paid alot!). I contacted Transform on numerous occasions but they havent contacted me back. What should I do?

  1. I expect you are entitled to compensation. These circumstances are outside your control, and the hospital should take responsibility and reply to contacts.

Contact a legal advisor, they would be the best people to give advice on this.

  2. Go to citizens advice.

  3. With non-aborbable sutures, it can be harmful to the patient if not removed in the appropriate time period.
