Is it dangerous to put mantos in a soda bacause i heard it'd explode?

Yeah it's a good explosion for soda and candy. We were stupid and did it in our car and to this day it is still sticky. We tried it outside with diet coke and the explosion seemed bigger for some reason.

Mentos and soda will produce a lot of bubbles.  Check youtube for it.

In order for it to be dangerous, you would need to shut the bottle. I doubt you'll have enough time to s***w the cap back on before the bubbles shoot out.

yes it will explode  if u put mentos in coke or diet coke haa it looks awesome but i wouldnt do it cuz ya never no how it'll blow and u could get hurt if u dont do it right

This is a great fifth-grade science experiment!  Go to the website of urban legends.  They tell you exactly how to set it up and you can watch a video of how they did it.  We tried it at school and we dropped six mentos into a two-liter of Coke - it has to be Coke, and not diet nor caffeine free.  The chemical reaction is the acid in the Coke reacting to the surface area of the mentos.  The reaction results in the Coke fizzing up hugely and being forced out of the neck of the bottle.  It shoots really high into the air and it is fun to watch.  Not dangerous at all - the worst that could happen is you would get all wet with coke or if you don't use scientific precautions - goggles - you could get mentos-coke in your eyes!  Ouch.  Check it out, fun to do.
