My husband has his own bike and I have decided I want my own.

I am thinking a Honda CBR 600. Is this a good choice and I am a little intimidated but I really want to learn to ride.

  1. Well you posted in the wrong area. This is for BICYCLES. But to answer your Q. I grew up around dirt bikes. I suggest you learn on a 80cc or something. Till you get the shifting down. Then try his bike out see if you can handle/like it.

  2. did not know honda made a crocth roket bicycle.

  3. Ask again in motorcycles you are in the bicycle section.

  4. You probably want to ask this question in the motorsports or motorcycling section to get a few more answers but as a fellow motorcyclist, I will give it a shot.

The biggest obstacle you'll face in learning to ride is if you have a small build.  The problem is not with handling the bike when it's moving: it's with handling it when you need to slow down or maneuver.  You'll want to find a bike with a low stand over height (or lower it after you buy it) if you are on the short side and stick with something small to start out with.  The 600 is probably a good size but might be a little over powered for a first bike.  Also, I'd advise getting a used bike as your first bike because you WILL drop it (everyone does...guy, girl, whatever).  If you get a sport bike, make sure you get frame savers to keep you from messing up the plastic.  As far as learning to ride,  I'd advise taking one of the MSF courses to get your feet wet and then going from there (they even have bikes to let you use so you don't mess up your own - see link below).  Good luck and happy riding.

  5. If you can't tell the difference between cycling and motorcycling, you might want to stick to riding the bus.
