Is it difficult for an actor to get into a student film?

I'm close by this film school that offers monthly auditions for actors the chance for actors to get into student films(Full Sail) and I've been to a few of these already and have yet to book roles. I know it's a competitive process and I have no clue if I'm even on the right track or not. I've heard the place I go is actually more difficult to get into than a hollywood film.

The thing is, I really want to get a resume started to send out to agencies. I've heard you can still send resumes even if you don't have work but I feel like an agency wouldn't think I was serious if they saw I hardly have anything to put on it. But a resume can always be updated.

anyway, just wondering if it just might be me or not.

i would say to try it out bc it would look good on a resume as experience
