I would really like to learn the violin.

Right now I play flute, piccolo, electric guitar, drums, and piano...so I'm hoping it's not too difficult.

Although it took me forever to learn guitar, if that makes a difference.

I love the way Cruxshadows play in their music...that's my big goal.

  1. Violin has fingerings very similar to a guitar. It really is not that difficult to pick up, and is available to younger students in our school district than band instruments because it is simpler.

  2. Usually, people who play guitar can pick up the violin pretty well, and vice versa.

Learning violin is both easy and hard. I strongly recommend that you find a private teacher to teach you. I actually think that learning the violin isn't that hard- mastering it is. It takes a long time to obtain good intonation and a nice vibrato. Shifting gets harder the higher you get, there are different types of bow strokes, and so on. If you're really willing to learn and put in a lot of effort, you'll probably breeze by the beginning skills quickly and start get to working on more intermediate stuff. But again, this will take lots and lots of effort and time set aside for practicing.

  3. By playing the violin, you can easily learn to play any other instrument of your choice. The violin is similar to the guitar although the violin doesn't have frets, so you would have to listen to the correct tone and pitch of the note your playing.

  4. No it is not. If you are willing to work hard and practise, it will not be hard!

    BTW  I play violin.
