Okay I have a year left in college (2nd year senior) and even though I've never been to Ireland I just know It's for me. So my question is right after I get my degree would it be doable for me to move to Ireland with $27,000 (yes I have around that much to work with) get a place to live and be able to find a job that pays well enough to get by without worrying when I'm gonna eat next? I am of Irish decent and for me it would be awesome to just leave the United States and start a new life.

my degree is Business Management. I'm 22 now.

  1. Ireland only accepts irish of descent if you have a passport of your Irish relative or something to prove that they are from Ireland.

Secondly you have to get hired by a job in Ireland first before you can get a work permit and jobs.ie or recruiteireland.ie.

The job applies for your work permit.  if you have a skill they need in Ireland then you have other options.  You can go live in Ireland for 6 months with just your passport you need to get permission from the Gardai at wherever you are staying and have to show proof of insurance, and income.

Great infor on moving to Ireland here

  2. Since they joined the ECU, Ireland has had a great influx of immigrants from all over the world. Now the Irish will only take the higher level jobs, and leave the manual labor to immigrants. However, they do grant citizenship to children and grandchildren of Irish citizens.

  3. Before you look too hard into finding a job, you should check to see if you are elligable for a work visa.  Ireland is very picky (or atleast they were a couple of years ago when my cousin wanted to move there) about who they give the permits to and for how long.  My cousin was able to get two 6 month permits, but had to return to the states after the second because she was unable to renew her permit.  If you can get a company to sponsor your permit, it is much easier to get one.

  4. Ireland offers citizenship to grandchildren of citizens ,i would suggest waterford or galway
