Is it dumb to start playing World of Warcraft now?

I know this sounds like a weird question but my boyfriend started playing last month and it seems like a lot of fun. But being a total noob makes me nervous when so many people have been playing for so long. So is it hard to get into? Are people generally nice or standoffish? Any advice?

I've been playing world of warcraft for almost 3 years now. I'm a female and i enjoy the game very much and im also very good at it. Of course, i played diablo and warcraft before i got into world of warcraft but it isnt hard to learn. When you first start playing the game will tell you step by step on what to do. You can always ask other players as well. It's very fun at first but it gets boring at times. Good luck. If you have any questions, just email me. If you decide to play, you can add my characters. thousands of people create new characters everyday u wont be the only low level

and some people are nice and some people are mean

you and your boyfriend just need to find a nice guild in your server that help each other out

i know alot of couples/families that play together it seems rly cool like it brings you together more

Actually, now is a great time to start playing. Not to advertise for Blizzard, but the next expansion will be coming out fairly soon. It doesn't take long to get from level 1-60 right now because Blizzard made it easier (and much better) to level, which would put you at the beginning areas of the current expansion, Burning Crusade in no time. You should have plenty of time to get through a lot of the content before the next expansion comes out, and by that point you'll be caught up with a lot of the community.

There's 10 million people that play WoW at the moment, there is a very wide variety of people playing and you'll always run into the people even of your own faction that you wish you could flag for PvP and kill, but you'll also find people out there that are great people and very easy to be friends with.

As for advice. Some do's and don'ts. Do be friendly and outgoing. That's how you make friends! Don't go around asking people for money. That's how you make antagonists to the rest of your time playing WoW! Do try out different races and classes to find the one you like!

the game is full of noobs & the game is pretty easy to get into, & the players are nice but they complain about everything, any little thing gets them mad, ive played the game & quit, simply becouse the game is long, repetetive & completly lame.

Most of the time people aren't nice. If you ask them a question they will call you a noob and stuff like that. It is a good game and I enjoy playing, but I generally just talk to my friends in real life that play the game.

Its not really that hard to get into. The starting areas pretty much get you ready for what you'll have to do.

You will find your nice and your standoffish people. WoW is at a good pace to play at now and is always new-people friendly (in terms of the leanring curve). And witht he expansion coming out soon you guys picked sa good time to play as I am expecting the game will boom again with the comign expansion. All that matters though is that your having fun!

lol Tons of noobs start playing that game EVERYDAY! I wasn't nervous when I started playing, just don't follow level seventies around and beg for help, I hate that, you will gain a bad rep and people will ignore you if you ask for help.
