I have been watching my 9 year old neice. I wanted her to come stay with me for a while. Well I get her over here. She is very rude, disrespectful and she talks back. I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant and I'm just hoping it wont be this hard when mine is that age? I'll know how to handle mine, right? Does it have to do with how she was raised?

  1. not if you raise your child right. thats your neice there for you cant disipline her. it does have to do with how she was raised, beacuse if she was raised right, she wouldnt talk back to adults, especially one that is carring for her.

  2. It has EVERYTHING to do with how she was raised. Your children will be different.

  3. It is very different when it is your child.  Your child wont annoy you, they may annoy other people but not you.. You will see what i mean. I used to feel the same way but i have a one year old now and i cant imagine life with out her.  it is also on the way you raise your child, i am not going to tell you what to do because i hated when people did that with me but just know that it is different when it is your child. Good luck and congrats.

  4. every parent has different ways of raising there kids, i think its easier dealing with your own kids rather then someone elses.

  5. What do you mean "Your child will not annoy  you?"  Huhhhh?

    My kid bugs the c**p out of me, my standards are higher for my child than for other people's kids.  I am a mean mom who does not let my kid get by with backtalk, or sulking abuse.  They can stay in their rooms all summer or until they come out with a different attitude.  No games, no phone, no computer, nothing but a couple of books and the ceiling to stare at.  It is up to them.  I started out when they were two, time out and today a half hour to an hour in their rooms cools their jets.

    PS suggest you try this with your neice.  Nothing child protective can do about time out.

  6. yes be strick and don't

    let her be ruley.

    time out train her, children need to be disaplented or else they will be brats. someone else is kids,you have less control. but if the nine year old is bad, send them to their room

    no t.v. nothing to play with, and be stern.

    god bless laney
