  1. Yes, only because they are usually not as expensive, and they tend to hold value better than cars


  2. No, actually quite the opposite. Banks are much more lenient on car loans, as they are seen as necessities. Motorcycles, however, are seen as "recreational". Banks are always tighter loaning money for recreational items (motorcycles, boats, 4-wheelers, etc.).

    I knew a buddy of mine that wanted a $7,000 bike, had $3,500 to put down, and a decent credit score. He was turned down.

    However, with the current gas crisis, this trend might change over, and banks might see dollar signs with more motorcycle sales.
