  1. It all depends on just how good your internal metronome is.  If you can't keep time, then taking up the drums may not be for you, because it's the DRUMS that set the rhythm for the band and if you can't keep time... they will want to kill you after the first song.

Any instrument is HARD TO LEARN that is why people take them up... TO LEARN... if you are one of those people who want everything simple in life or done for you, then you don't want to take up any instrument.

  2. guitar is a little harder because you have to learn different techniques like finger-tapping, slurs, pulls-offs, hammer-ons etc...

The fun part about the drum is that you cannot play out of tune because their are no notes. On the other hand, it demands much more energy because you are using all your limbs.

Learn the instrument that your heart tells you.

  3. My boyfriend plays both, but prefers the guitar. He says that neither one are easy, they both take deditcation, time and patience. Go with what you most desiire to play, or even learn to play both! Best of luck to ya!

  4. I PLAY THE DRUMS AND MY SISTER PLAYED THE GUITAR AND SHE STRUGGLED LEARNING IT.

  5. Jung doesn't know anything about drums:..."The fun part about the drum is that you cannot play out of tune because their are no notes" Experienced drummers need to tune their drumset, congas, bongos, etc. with a special tool that tightens the skin of the drum for that perfect pitch, tuned sound. There are notes to read also, believe it or not.

Anyway, I play the drums and it comes natural to me. it all boils down to this, if you got natural rhythm and coordination, then the drums will be easy to learn. I say playing the guitar is harder since it truly does involve more coordination with your fingers.

  6. Well... there are more things to learn on guitar, more techniques. But if you want to play a drumset like Neil Peart.... I'm guessing that drums could be harder!

All depends on how far you want to go with it I believe...
