  1. London and NYC are similar cities with similar populations... is Central London and Manhatten similar sizes?  I think Central London is abit more sprawled out, considering there's not as many Sky Scrapers there.

  2. I don't know if this answers your question, but I used to live in Washington, DC, and I had a friend there who occasionally hired me to do photography for him.

Well, in the summer of 1993, I was in New York City for a large cultural event, g*y Games 4. Over a million visitors were in NYC that week, and who should I bump into, at random, on the street in Greenwich Village but my friend from DC! I had no idea he would be there, and he didn't know I would be there!

In a city that size, what are the odds?

  3. My husband 'bumped in' to his own BROTHER in Paris (France of those of you in Rio Linda), walking down the street.  Neither knew the other was in the country (they are Americans)  Big coincidence!

  4. yes

  5. I believe you are more likely to bump into someone in New York than London.

New York is more concentrated.  Visitors focus overwhelmingly on Midtown.  That's a very small space, compared with the many spread out and diverse attractions in London.  It's a big walk from the retail stores, to the theaters, to Kensington Palace area, etc.  Not so Midtown Manhattan.  The fact it is a relatively narrow peninsula discourages sprawl.
