I will be visiting Saltillo and would like to know if I will be able to rent a place to stay. In some other countries it is very difficult for non-residents to rent.

you can find accommodation in mexico by using the sites above listed

I think a 200 USD - 250 USD PER ROOM (MONTHLY payment) is   a good price..   I strongly recommend you think twice if the landlord wants to charge you for a shared flat more than 250 per room /monthly.

  2. We are expats here in Mexico.  Depending upon how long you are staying, you may want to negotiate a long-term stay at a hotel.  I would speak directly with the facility in question -- you can get local numbers online.

If you decide to rent a house or apartment, you do need to be careful.  Remember to negotiate the price -- some of our expats here in Torreon have been able to knock one third of the original quoted price off their home rentals.

Some homes are "managed" by a person other than the owner.  Sometimes this is an elaborate scheme to keep the "income" from the home from the authorities.  There may be deposits required, and it may also be that you will never see that "deposit" money again -- it might be argued that the home was "damaged" while you were there.

If at all possible, try to use friends or business associates in Saltillo to help you with your research.  These could prove invaluable, particularly if you have difficulty with the resolution of final rental payments or fines as you go to leave.

That said, Saltillo is a wonderful town and there should be quite a few fine rental options.  Just use caution and common sense.

  3. It is very easy to find somewhere to rent in Saltillo.  It is a very modern city that has grown a lot in the past few years.  There are private houses for rent or you can stay at the holiday inn.  There is a lot to choose from.  There are a lot of places where they rent homes for students.

  4. no its not easy. but you can stay in a hotel

  5. Many landlords prefer to rent to gringos as it is against the law to easily evict citizens who don't pay the rent, but not so with gringos.  They also know the gringos WILL pay reliably. Many use real estate offices to manage the rentals.  You will have a rental contract to sign.  As far as "easy"...just depends on how much is available where you are.

  6. yes, as long as you have money. Mexicans try to rip off "gringos" so bad its not even funny. They'll take you, just at a heftier price.

  7. they dont mind, as long as you pay! many options to choose from - try:

  8. You can get either one, depending how much you want to spend it will be easier to find a house. Big cities have house more expensive and they also have more available apartments. Small cities, houses are cheap and apartments are almost non existent.
