  1. I would like to know too

  2. Oxford University is very difficult to get into. Another point is, they is no Finance and Accountancy course there. Here is a link to the course list in Oxford University.

I will briefly explain how you would apply. First you send off an application form and if they like it you will be asked to go for an interview (sometimes two interviews). Depending on which course your taking, you also may have to sit an exam. Remember you will need to achieve very good grades for your application.

There are many entry requirements which I could spend all day telling you but unfortunately I don't know which country you come from therefore don't which qualifications you have took. Here is the a link to the website which explains what you may need:

The fact that you are a public school student should not make you disadvantaged, it's best to forget about that as it's not an issue.

    Hope this helps, good luck.

  3. Firstly you can't study finance and accountancy at Oxford as no such course exists.  Courses at Oxford are more academic rather than vocational based, but the closest thing to what you want to study is a course called 'economics and management'.

There aren't any requirements as such for getting in, but generally successful applicants will have excellent academic results.  Almost all students there have a mixture of A*s and As at GCSE and straight As at A levels.  You'll undoubtedly see on here answers from Americans bleating on about how lots of extra-curricular activities are important for getting into Oxford.  I can assure you they're not; I went to Oxford so I should know!  Whilst these are important requirements for American and some UK universities, Oxford really doesn't like to see too many extra-curriculars on your application form as they're seen as detracting from your academic pursuits.

Unfortunately, it is very hard to get into Oxford.  Everyone who applies will have the excellent academics as detailed above, but out of those, only 1 in 3 will get a place.  And no, it doesn't matter what type of school you came from.  Those days are long gone.  I went to a comprehensive school and got in and there were plenty of people like me there too.
