Is it easy to appy and get a tourist visa to south korea?

American tourists don't need a visa for a short trip to South Korea (I went two years ago).  But check with the South Korean consulate.  If you aren't American, the rules may be different -- but I think citizens of many countries can visit South Korea without a visa.  Staying to work or for a long time is a different matter, though.
