It is mandatory for passengers from various countries, including India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, intending to attend a conference, to study, or to visit Mexico with business or leisure purposes, to obtain a VISA.

In some cases, a previous authorization document granted by the National Institute of Immigration, Secretaría de Gobernación, México (INM/SEGOB) is needed.  For this authorization to be granted, your counterpart or sponsor within Mexico has to submit an application directly to the INM in Mexico. For certain activities the process can also be promoted through their respective Embassies in Mexico or by the Mexican Embassy in New Delhi. The immigration authorities in Mexico usually take about  three to four weeks to complete the process. The National Institute of Migration is located in Homero 1832; Col. Los Morales Polanco; Delegación Miguel Hidalgo; C. P. 11510, México, D. F.; Tel. 01 (55) 53 87 24 00. www.inami.gob.mx
