  1. I picked it up very easily, and was skiing black runs by my second year no problem, I guess it depends on the person, but I am short and hear it's easier for shorter people. Try it and find out.

  2. No it's not easy, if it was easy no one would be interested.

  3. it was very easy for me now i am a really good freestyle skier

its not that easy to learn freestyle or park and pie skiing

i have a friend who on his first time out schussed down a black (verry dumb thing to do) (not sure of the spelling of that word)

  4. To learn good skiing technique is not easy, snowboard is much easier.

  5. I can both snowboard and ski. I think once you've learnt how to stop and turn, in either snowplough or parallel, then you can pretty much pick things up after that. Its just hard at the start if you have no patience like me (who did give up a few times). Learning to snowboard is much harder but once you've got the hang of it its fun. Both are really addictive as well, I find skiing down a slope on your own is so relaxing, I adore it. Snowboarding down gives me the thrill and adrenalin I want, where as skiing relaxes you.

  6. for all those who say  snowboarding is easier to learn i once herd someone say that skiing is easier to learn harder to master snowboarding is harder to learn easier to master

  7. Quite easy if you take some lessons. Get in reasonable physical condition and be prepared to struggle for an hour or so.   Rent your equipment at the area, pay particular attention to the fit of the ski boots. They must be tight around the foot and ankle, so you do not move inside the boot.

The skis should be about nose tall to you and stiff enough to support your weight.

If you can walk, I can teach you to ski.  If you dance, I can teach you to ski well.

Before you take the lessons spend several weeks doing a few minutes a day of jump rope and other balance exercises.

  8. I used to be a ski instructor at Copper Mountian.  From my experience the younger you are the easier it is to learn to ski.  Of couse basic athletic ability and balance are required.  It's not an easy sport to pick up, you have to have a lot of determination and not give up.  But once you have the basics down it is so addictive, you just want to head up the mountain for one more run!  GOOD LUCK!

  9. Not for me , I'm very tall.

The shorter you are the easier it is to learn.

If you can skateboard you are half way there.
