Is it easy to make a fish tank myself?

I want a tank for my 2 turtles so got to be pretty big. Plan to build the hood myself c/w basking area, how do I go abought making the fish tank - is it simply a case of buying 5 bits of glass and sealing them together?

hey i also built a tank by my self

                        first i bought some glass big glass and sticked them together and i put 1inch of water to check if its l*****g then checked again after sme mins and no l*****g than  i p[ut the water in and put

boyght my fish and put them inside and they are still living happily

It may be quite difficult ensuring they are sealed strongly enough.  But if you are confident enough - try it - you won't find out until you give it a go.

It can be done, but you will find that its not cheap to do it right if your trying to make it BIG.

do it, but make sure you seal it properly

also you need to buy a lid to fit properly

WHAT!? If you need to fill it with water, those seals need to take a LOT of pressure.  Occasionally proper tanks leak, you can seal them but it doesn't always work.

Think about your floor/carpet if the seals break...

disadvantages : the time, money and hassle it takes you might as well hunt out the perfect one and buy tht,

advantages : fun, unique

but i would go for it, it will be a fun but time consuming project!! Hope it works!
