I have a 24' above ground round pool. Somebody has a cheap liner for sale that's brand new in box, but it has an inch tear in it. She says its from a cat. anyways, if I buy a patch repair kit and patch it, will it hold up? Or am I going to have a leak shortly after? Its about $100 cheaper than a new one. I would hate to fill the whole pool up and find out a month later its leaking and I have to tear it down. Has anybody patched a pool liner before and did it work? longterm? Thanks!

  1. There should be plenty of products at your home supply store or pool supply store to patch the tear, but it will end up costing you about $25 to $40 to do it right, so that cuts into your savings.  You're better off just buying a new one without a tear, then you can keep your mind at rest and you'll probably have a warranty that you won't get with a used one.
