Is it easy to rent an apartment privately in the Gold Coast?

I'm moving there from nz in a month and want to know if anyone can point me in the right direction concerning private residential rentals.

It's pretty confusing online....

There are plenty for rent here at a variety of prices. You will pay about $350 or more a week for a 2 bedroom . Once you are here go to all the rental agencies and also wander around the area you would like to live as many apartments are not through a rental agent they are dealt with by the manager of those apartments. Take a wander around labrador as there are some nice places along frank street and marine parade. Make sure you bring references with you.

You are going to need to go through a Real Estate Agent, renting Privately is like selling your next door neighbours hens teeth to your Centaur of a Son, ie, if you want to rent privately, people may think what do they have to hide. truth! over here, people who want to rent privately can't get a house through a real estate agent
