Is it easy to steal things from wal-mart

The other day I saw this lady in wal-mart and she was heading towards the dressing rooms. She had a top,and two pairs of jeans.

She had a makeup item in her hands that was perfectly visable and she walked in.

When she walked out the makeup item wasn't in her hand.So it doesn't take an einstein

to figure out that she stole it.

can you easily go into the dressing rooms with stuff under the clothes and steal them?

Can you get caught?

  1. The point of a dressing room attendant is to minimize the possibility of this sort of thing.  This is one of the major reasons most stores now have you count out how many items you have and get a big plastic number (to avoid you stealing clothes), and why some stores have you hang up your clothes on a rack for the attendant to count (to avoid you hiding things in your hands or between the clothes).

Additionally, though stores are not allowed to have video surveillance systems in the dressing rooms, they can have them in the main area, and if the security personnel saw something happen like what you described, they are perfectly within their rights to search the person in question.

So does it happen?  Yes.  Is it easy?  Sometimes.  Can you get caught?  Yes.

  2. Curious question =D

Well, you just saw her do it easy enough. Most things are RFID tagged. There are assets protection people dressed up in normal clothes to specifically circumvent shoplifting. There are cameras with overlapping fields of view across the entire store. Think you luck will pan out?
