  1. Take a look at the website I've put in the sources.  It's got a useful little chart based on how much energy your household appliances use.  Out of sixteen items, clothes driers are in fifth place for consuming the most energy.  So they do seem to take a lot of power to run those things, and more electricity = less environmentally friendly, if we want to put it in those terms.  So if you want to be more friendly, hang up to dry what clothes you can and only use the dryer when most necessary.  I already hang up the majority of my clothes, but mostly to save them from my own stupidity in matters of running the stupid machine, haha.


  2. no its not an eco friendly device, but because most cities in the US consider clothslines "unsightly" they aren't allowed in dense urban areas.

  3. No its environmentally friendly to use a washing line and let the wind dry your clothes

  4. no not really because the enrgy used to power ur dryer is helping burn coal which leads to more SOx in the air,runoffs, use of nonrenewable sources , habitat loss, and so on...just let it dry in the sun..plus u'll save some money
