Is it ethical for any party to pressure a journalist to write their story?

If a party issues a statement and subsequently ask (either subtly or outright demand) the journalist covering the event to write something about it, is it ethical?

I alway thought a journalist told the story from the facts, to answer your question no I don't think its ethical, I think we should get the facts, our news owes us that, instead we only get opinions.
