I recently had an interview with a PD sgt and they said I should be hearing back from them within about two weeks or so. I am not sure if it's right to call them up and ask about my status since I already had an interview, but I don't want to make them think I lost interest, how would you proceed?

  1. Ethics has nothing to do with it.

Give them the 2 weeks then give them a polite call about your status. It shows that you are still interested and able to give them the time they stated to do their background work.

  2. Yes, you should give them a phone call to check the status. Also, I learned in training session that if you know your interviewer's name and address you should send a thank you card.

  3. I agree. Two weeks, give them a call. Shows interest. Of course they will like that! :o)

  4. If you haven't heard after 3 weeks, call. If you call earlier, you are showing anxiety and inattention.

  5. It is wise to give them the 2 weeks, maybe even 3.  Then it shows your enthusiasm if you call to find out the status and the next stage.
