Is it even possible to stay close friends with someone your whole life in today’s time?

Maybe I’m just in a bit of a cynical/bad mood today because of school starting and my best friend going off to college, but I’m really starting to wonder if it’s possibly to TRULY be friends with someone forever. It just seems like no matter what you do, or how hard you try, people are ALWAYS going to change and sooner or later you won’t be friends anymore because you’ve both changed too much. Is this just the sad reality or a bad mood?

  1. Its a sad reality.

Different environments and different experiences away from each other tends to change the taste & interest of that person. Since you are apart, it is only natural that you & your friends evolve differently.

But the good thing about this is that you get to meet new people, experience new things & still retain the friends that have moved away from you. Though you may not be as close as before, years from now when you meet again, there will be lots to talk about.

Don't worry too much. I have an ex relationship that didin't worked out about 15 years ago. But today we are still best of friends even though she lives a few thousand miles away. Everytime she comes back with her family, I get very excited & there are lots of things we talk about when we meet.

    Best of luck to you.

  2. a bad mood
