Is it ever justifiable to take vengeance on someone?

Does revenge ever solve anything?

Absolutely not! It may emotionally feel like the right thing at the moment, but take time to think when the mind is clear. You'll see the difference in what the right choice would be. Reacting when emotional usually doesnt produce the best results. Out of impulse, only produces temporary satisfaction. You may feel good for the moment in taking vengeance, but later you'll realize and feel the guilt. And, no, it never solves anything. You'll just cause the problem to escalate or eventually come back around to bite you.

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
