  1. If the currency in South Korea is worth more than the US dollar, yes it could be more expensive. This would depend on prices there as well though, not just the purchasing power parity of the relative currencies.

  2. let me start by saying that while I have never lived in Korea, I am planning on moving there this fall to teach English for a Korean company. The offered me a salary of $32K per year and free housing for the terms of the contract, roughtly, 10 months. I will be working about 30 hours per week and have a translator with me fulltime. Because of their low taxes, 3-4% and the cost of living, I have been told that I should be able to save nearly half of my wages. If this is true, and I have no reason to doubt them, I'd say that you could visit there cheaply. Of course the real effort would be to not spend all of your money visiting China and the Phillipines, which would gobble all of your currency. If you're here, on line in about a year, I'll tell you how it went.

  3. You mean the exchange rate?

    1 USD = 140 Won

I'm not suited to answer if that's a good exchange rate or not, but perhaps your asking if it is?
