its all relative ..the prices that may be expensive in Turkey but for example if you're from the Uk  then  they are still probably cheap to you in comparison

No Istanbul is not the most expensive city in Turkey. I can even say it is the cheapest one.Because there are loads of choices you can make.You only need to find the reasonable one. As an example you can have a dinner for 500 liras in Nişantaşı area but also you can choose to eat something in Uskudar for 5 lira. 100 times difference.It doesn't make the city expensive because you don't know how to find 5 lira place.

Izmir is cheaper than Istanbul. Istanbul is the most expensive city in Turkey. Trust me, I live in Istanbul :)

izmir is not expensive than istanbul. also istanbul has cheap but very nice places. beyoğlu area is both touristic and non-touristic area, so restaurants and other activies are not that expensive.
