...when leaves the receiver without any way to respond to it?
This just happened to me--I got an insulting (and unfair) personal email (PE) from someone, only to find when I clicked on 'reply' that this person does not allow PEs.
That doesn't seem like fair play to me. I allow PEs and most of the ones I get are positive (I've made yahoo buddies that way). But even when I get negative ones, I have never blocked anybody. It doesn't seem right. I would only block someone if they started bombarding me with tons of insulting PEs and wouldn't stop when I asked them to, and that's never happened.
I respect that some people who post answers choose not to receive PEs. But if someone chooses to send negative PEs to people, isn't it only fair that they allow the recipient to respond with a PE?
