  1. Regardless of a nations political corruptness, helping those less fortunate than you is a very nice thing to do.  It is the humane thing to do.   Starving babies, being starved BY their own governments, should be helped when possible.

  2. I totally agree with scorch.  It is not right for rich nations to help poor nations.  There must be another way.  The more money they send the more the poor politician steal.

  3. Rich nations shouldn't waist a dime on poor nations because majority of that money goes to single ppl.

  4. Usually rich nations only help poor nations when they benefit from it, for example giving the citizens of wealthy nations the right to own businesses in that country or other concessions.

  5. Poor nations politicians are completely corrupt? What world do you live in if you don't think that the politicians in the U.S are the most lying ,corrupt , stealing species of humans on the face of the earth.!

  6. rich nations are also interested in making the money. its what saves them from poverty.

and what would happen if we wouldnt help them? they would extinct. they would be gone if there wouldnt be any american doctors without borders or european union aiding them with food and water.

now think if you would live in a poor nation, wouldnt you like that rich countries would help you? millions of children die each year. if america would be poor like this, then there wouldnt be any young people left to run the country.

  7. You ask: Is it fair that rich nations must help poor nations?

It may or not be fair, but it's essentall that they do. The world is gtting smaller, and what hapens in one counrty will have repercussions in others. We must stop the gap between rich and poor countries getting wider. If not we will rue the consequences eventually.

You say: when poor nations´politicians are completely corrupt...? All poiticians are corrupt to some extent. The degree of corruption differs widly from counry to country. I behooves us to research each situation carefully, and take drastic steps before we pour money in.

A big part of the problem is that doners want to fund very large amounts rather than lots of smaller ones, (where it can be seen exactly were the money is spent), for administrative convenience. These large amounts go through several chanells before they get to the beneficaries, and there is a temptation to corruption all the way down.

Another way is, to don't give it to governments, but to responsible NGO's where possible.

  8. Interesting question. If you ignore the poor country, you run the risk of being accused of greed. If you give them the foreign aide, you are propping up a corrupt government, possibly permitting funds to be redirected to other purposes. If you attempt to replace the government, you are accused of being a manipulative, bullying superpower.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. So to answer your question, it's not fair, but it appears that nothing is fair for anybody.

  9. Corruption is a social cancer. Irrespective of the nations, it exists everywhere.

If the nations are poor, the rich countries should help the nations and its people. They also should take care not to give the money to the Rulers or leaders.

It is said that the leader of a big community who was going round the world amassing wealth for his people had all the money in his name and when he died, his wife got all of it and not the people. Every body has to have the repsonsibility of helping the poor and the needy. But make sure that it goes to the right hand.

Another big task is to erradicate this evil called corruption
