Is it fair to say that the biggest surprise in Today's Final is that Federer was able to keep the match close?

No disrespect to Roger, a great player, but Nadal is in a league of his own at the moment. In all honesty, Nadal should've ended today's match in 3 sets. What do you guys think?

  1. No. Nadal should have won the match in 4 sets. He was up 5-2 in the 4th set tie break before he double faulted. Then the momentum shifted in Federer's favor.

  2. That would be correct to say. I expected Federer to lose in 3 or 4 sets. When he forced a 5th, he raised my hopes of him winning, but he never looked like breaking Nadal's serve. And I can't believe I just wrote that. He couldn't  break Nadal's serve. Nadal's serve.

    *EDIT*

I really don't know what Joe meant when he said Federer was leading in the 5th.

  3. no i thought that Federer was going to win despite that Nadal is the King of grass courts

  4. yeah federer was always catching up , but he still could have won it

  5. I love Federer, and I knew he was bound to come back, he wouldnt let himself get such a beat down.

  6. Thats how good Nadal has become...i really thought at the end of the second set that Nadal was going to win...and even in that closest of the close battles that it was, i was certain that this moment was Nadal's.....

  7. Just keep it close? He was leading in the 5th match of the longest finals on record and was only a few points away from taking it, if Nadal hadn't come back. If it was some other player besides Roger, then I'd be surprised because Roger has won too many times at Wimbledon to go out that easily. And all the matches were close, so it wasn't like Roger was completely overmatched.

  8. no, that wasn't the biggest surprise.

as a 5 time wimbledon champion, federer was supposed to keep it close.

in fact, he was supposed to win it.

and biggest surprise was that nadal won!  he played outstandingly.

had nadal had 25 aces in his arsenal as federer had, the match would have been over by the 3rd set.

  9. Nadal was great, i am nadal all the way always, but  was a bit dissapointed that he didnt go for as many shots as he usually does. O well he still wrecked
