Question:

Is it fashionable to be a Republican Maverick?

McCain claims to be a maverick.

Palin claims to be a maverick.

For the buttondown, lockstep republicans, is it now fashionable to be a maverick?

It just seems that the self-proclaimed mavericks expect to herd us all into the gates and behave just like we always do.

And if you decide to get a touch of maverickness, would you vote for Ron Paul? Or would you just stay home on November 4?

  1. How much is a maverick when he could not select his own VP. He wanted LIEBERMAN.  He is just going to be the puppet in the SAME OLE ADMINISTRATION OF THE BUSHES.

  2. It's not entirely unpopular. The so-called Repub maverick is the Presidential candidate.

  3. opposing out of control Republican spending and corruption is how he came to that title. The fiscal conservatives don't have anyone to vote for anymore. Both parties spend like drunken sailors.

I personally think we need to have one party in each branch because the worst times in this country were under single party rule. My city is 99% Democrat and we have the highest taxes in the country and 2nd highest poverty rate. If they spent that money on the poor like they always promise, we would not have those results.

  4. If McCain and Palin are Mavericks in the GOP's eyes, that means you're a Maverick for voting along party lines only 9 out 10 times.  I can't believe republicans are supporting such "rouge" presidential running mates this time around.

  5. Republicans are consumed with self-loathing ---- when they aren't consumed with self-love. In short, they are in their multiple personality stage.

They need a touch of compassion, but not anyone's vote.

As for Ron Paul -- he actually has only a tenuous grasp on the locations of various countries. In an interview, you could make a country up, and he'd have a comment for you. he seems like a nice enough guy, though. But not presidential material.

Republican mavericks should vote for Bob Barr.

  6. Is being a political opportunist the same as being a maverick?

    I think NOT.

  7. From the Big old Reagan tribute  "Reagan was a maverick"

    Mavericks in 2008...

    LMAO

Obama Biden 2008  the real Mavericks in 2008.   Looking out for the common man!!!

  8. McCain/Palin get used to it.  It's coming.  You can stay home and do us a favor.
