If it is possible, is train the best way? About how much should I expect to pay for train passes?

  1. Yes.  My brother commutes from Leed to York for his work so I'm sure it would be ok to do it the opposite way.

  2. Yes, there are regular trains, or you can get the Yorkshire Coastliner Bus which runs about every 30 minutes from early to late, and runs accross York from Stockton on the Forest through the city & dringhouses to Companthorpe, then on to Tadcaster and Leed.s

  3. Yeah I do. But I drive along the A64. The traffic into Leeds can be terrible tho.

The train is a good choice if it suits your needs. It takes about 15 minutes each way, and the best bet for tickets would be some sort of season pass. Expensive at first but cheaper in the long term. Sorry, but i dont know how much they cost, go to the ticket office at York station for info.

I'm sure the bus service is okay but it'll be long and susceptible to traffic delays.

  4. no doubt, here is a link to travelling now form york stn to leeds stn, hope it helps you can edit the stations to your liking :)

  5. I've had mates who've commuted in both directions for a few years so you should be fine.

  6. yes it is easy you can go by train /bus or car york is only 30 miles from leeds all options have the ussuall hazards but ..not sure about passes though

  7. Certainly use the excellent train service.  Relax, read your paper etc.  My neice does this daily.  Both Leeds and York have small city centres so walking to/from the train station is no problem and good exercise
