Question:

Is it feasible to get a Canadian work visa as a British Citizen?

I'm a male British citizen in my early twenties with 4 years solid industry experience in the IT/New Media field. No degree but good A-Levels.

I never have any problem finding work in the UK as my field has a distinct shortage of people skilled enough to do the job and I've read it's the same in Canada.

If I could get a job offer; how difficult would it be to get a work permit/visa?

I earn a bit over the national average (£32,000). Equivalent jobs earn around $100,000-$120,000 in the USA and around $80,000 in Canada just to put it into perspective. These rates aren't just converted but represent the average salary for my exact position in the respective countries.

Thank you all in advance for your help.

  1. This should help: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/index....

You need to find an employer who will sponsor you, and get a positive Labour Market opinion (strong demand for employees in that field)
