  1. well it could be done... but to be honest to properly see both countries you need about nine days in each. so yes u could do that. visit dublin, the west of ireland and cork. pick your places carefully of course.

  2. Sure it is, just pick your places carefully.  Get a good Frommers guide for both, and figure out the places you want to go.  They give you outlines for what to see if you have 1 week or two weeks.  You can customize your ideas from there.

Then, you can figure out how much time to get to each place,  and how much time you want to spend in each.  This will depend on how much you want to see, and if the places are close by.  Cities are especially easy to see in 2-3 full days each.

You might also decide to spend all 9 days to see one of the two in depth, but that's up to you.

    Have a great time!

  3. no to get the lay of the land you have to spend time in each country for a few months each or stay up a lot and see as much as you can

  4. No...i'm sure Ireland has loads to do, but I can only speak from a Scottish point of view.  You'd need a couple of days at least in Edinburgh, another day or so in Glasgow & at least 3 to 4 days to truly appreciate the wild beauty of the Highlands.  If you want to visit the so called "Braveheart Country" around Stirling you'll need another day-day & a half.  As you can see that's almost 9 days already & you're just in Scotland.  If you came to Edinburgh during the International Festival you'd be spending more than 2 days here believe me.
