Is it finally time to get rid of affirmative action?

Since we had Hillary running and Obama getting the Democratic nomination it is pretty clear that we don't need to give out this charity anymore. When we do will African Americans still whine and expect us to pander to them?

  1. Not just yes, but h**l YES! The idea of giving someone an advantage based on s*x or color is wrong!. How many of our public service personel were hired because of s*x or color instead of their qualifications?

  2. I think such programs are slowly dying off.  But you are right.  We should not have affirmative action programs.  It amounts to reverse discrimination.

  3. Yes. It is long past time to abandon that failed policy!

  4. totally agreed. I am tired of not getting jobs because I can't scream "discrimination".. I am tired of not being able to qualify for help with rent, etc because "the quota of people for my qualifications has been met..or in other words I am the wrong color/nationality..".. (it happened to me in MO and I was literally hanging on by a thread)..but someone will ALWAYS think they deserve to get it all because of what happened 100 years ago.. Let the past go.. GL at ever letting that happened. They don't realize that they already get a LOT more than we do and they want to play that "pity party" game.. I am sick of it

  5. Not until you stop making racist generalizations.

  6. Yes they will continue to whine even more so..  Why give up a tactical edge in battle.  If the edge gets you a job over the other person, or gets you into college instead of another then why give it up.

Why buy the cow if the milk is free?

  7. 2 people don't amount to conclusive results.

  8. NO but it might be a good idea to get rid of racist thinking people

  9. yes

  10. I am sick and tired of hearing about "reverse discrimination."  I am a white woman in a community that is 50% black and 99% of its community development board is white.  Women make less than men.  Everywhere you look - in media, in politics (save Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton), in business - it is WHITE MEN IN CHARGE.

The reality is this:  We need to start taking better care of one another.  This hate will not change anything.  Realize your own racism and then destroy it by reaching out to someone different than yourself.  It will change your life.

Affirmative action will cease to exist when we truly have equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, class, creed, s*x, sexual orientation, etc.  We're not there yet.

  11. NO WELFARE NO PEACE!!.

  12. I didn't do anything wrong, and I don't deserve to pay for the sins of some guys back before I was born. Give me a break. Affirmative Action is so out of date and there is no such thing as an African American. You are either American or you aren't. If you don't like the way things are done here, move to some other country.

We are all God's children, and equal in his eyes. We should all treat each other equally, blacks to whites and browns, as well as whites to browns and blacks, and browns to white and black.

I'm sick of hearing about Black rights. What about the rest of us?
