  2. There are three versions of Google Earth: Free, Plus, and Pro. The Free version is, well, free. Plus costs $20 and Pro costs $400. The version you can download directly is the free version.

  4. Yes, it should be free directly from Google. Here's the web site:

    http://earth.google.com/

    Visit that page and click "Download Google Earth 4.3" and it'll ask you to confirm the TOS and such and you then should be given to download the installer file. Once downloaded, run it. It will then install it's self with instructions given so by you. Don't worry, it's not complicated, it's quite user friendly.
