Is it free to send ringtones through email when you have unlimited texting?

Because my dad told me that it cost money to send emails to my phone even though i have unlimited texting. Is he right? Thats how i was getting my ringtones and then he got mad at me because he said it cost money.

Any help will do.

Oh if this helps I have the Samsung Juke. I dont know if that is important or not but watev.
